Market Town Partnerships
Market Towns in Wealden
Wealden has a number of small market towns that act as service centres to their surrounding rural areas. In recent years social and commercial change have had a negative impact on the functions of many of these towns. The Government's Rural White Paper (2000) stated that small Market Towns are in need of regeneration to ensure a prosperous future.
Market Town Partnerships and what they do
Market Town Partnerships can play a key role in the Regeneration of their towns. These partnerships are made up of people from the public, private and voluntary sector. Wealden Market Town Partnerships have been carrying out community consultation to find out the needs of their local community and working on projects to address these needs.
