Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

On 1 July 2007 WEEE regulations came in to force. Basically, WEEE is anything powered by electricity or batteries. Businesses now have to ensure the seperation of WEEE products from their waste. The following contractors can provide a WEEE collection service from Wealden Businesses.

City Electrical Factors: 01825 760800

Ereco Electrical Recycling: 01342 833033

Magpie Recycling: 01273 685628

MDJ Light Brothers: 01273 476862

Businesses that produce Electrical or Electronic Equipment (EEE) are required to finance the collection, treatment, recovery and sound disposal oftheir waste electrical goods. To comply with regulations, producers of EEE should have joined a compliance scheme by 15th march 2007 and submitted their 2006 sales data.

Please ring the Environment Agency (08708 506506) if you have failed to adhere to the deadline.
