Health & Safety

Good Health and Safety Pays
Employers must ensure they take all reasonable steps to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of their employees and protect the public from accidents, injuries or other harm arising from their work activities. It's all about managing the risks (external link).
Environmental Health Officers (EHO's)ensure compliance with the law in the retail, wholesale and leisure sectors. The Health & Safety Executive (external link) cover manufacturing, agriculture, construction and education. At Wealden we have specialist officers in our Occupational Health and Safety Unit who can give advice on the law and how it applies to your business.
As well as inspecting businesses, EHO's also offer advice and guidance, train staff and managers, and investigate complaints and serious accidents.
