Illicit Drop Vodka

On 23rd November 2011 the Food Standards Agency issued a Food Alert relating to the sale of illicit bottles of 70cl Drop Vodka. Propan-2-ol and other substances that can be potentially damaging to health have been found in the vodka which also contains less alcohol that the stated ABV on the labelling.

Bottles of this vodka have been distributed around the country and have been found on sale within Wealden. These have been dealt with by East Sussex Trading Standards Department.

Environmental Health Officers at Wealden District Council are working with East Sussex Trading Standards to help inform businesses and the general public about this issue. For more information, including photographs of the illicit bottles please see:
