Wealden Training Courses

Wealden courses are widely known for their quality and successful results.

The programme covers Level 2 food safety through to Level 3 supervisory levels in catering. It also includes courses in healthier foods and special diets and a course to help you build up your skills to train your own staff. We can also provide tailor made courses in food safety and health and safety, to meet your business needs, when and where suits you.

The certificates gained are all nationally recognised and provided by the External Link Chartered Institute of Environmental Health

Our current programme

This year's programme reflects the demand for training over the past few years, and allows us to concentrate our resources to meet the current needs of local businesses.

We anticipate additional demands for training this year due to the introduction of the Internal Link National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme across Sussex - as well trained staff will be one of the criteria on which businesses are scored.

The prices include concessions for small businesses and those located in the Wealden, Rother and Eastbourne areas. Please ask for details when booking.

Fees and booking arrangements

To book a place on a course is easy just contact our training course administrator by email at rachel.leach@rother.gov.uk or telephone 01424 787374.


We often have people on a reserve list for courses. Therefore if places are booked and need to be cancelled, please give at least 5 working days notice before the start of the course. This allows us time to fill cancelled places. Otherwise the full fee will be charged.

Food Hygiene Awareness Course (in house only with minimum of 10 delegates) **

£40 Per person for the first 10 candidates

£20 Per person over 10 candidates

*   Includes course handbook, exam fee and certificate.

** Includes handouts and attendance certificates.


A 10% discount is available for ‘Wealden, Rother and Eastbourne businesses’. When the business has its main operating base located within one of the Districts.

A discount of 20% will apply when these local businesses employ less than 10 people.

Those businesses that support the courses on a regular basis, whatever their size or location, are offered a 20% discount. This may not be used in conjunction with any other discount offer.

Special requirements

If you have any special requirements please let us know in advance and we will do our best to help you.

Evidence of identity

All candidates taking CIEH exams will need to provide photo evidence of identity e.g. driving licence, passport or work identity badge before sitting the exam.
